On September 4, Russian security forces took political prisoner Aziz Akhtemov from the prison in Yeniseisk, Krasnoyarsk Krai, to an unknown destination. This was reported today by Aziz's wife Adile Akhtemova.
"I could not find out what happened, where he is now and in what condition, I couldn’t get ahold of anyone at the Federal Penitentiary Institution T-2 in Krasnoyarsk Krai, Yeniseisk," - Adile wrote on her Facebook page.
According to her, the Russians also refused to provide information about her husband's whereabouts via e-mail, explaining it by "the right not to provide information to third parties."
It was on September 4 three years ago that the FSB abducted Aziz Akhtemov from his home, and later he, his brother Asan and Crimean Tatar politician Nariman Dzhelal were accused of sabotage, fabricating a case of damage to a gas pipeline in the village of Perevalne in the summer of 2021. All three were severely tortured by the occupiers, demanding that they take the blame.

A year later, the self-proclaimed Supreme Court of Crimea sentenced the Akhtemov brothers and Nariman Dzhelal to 13 to 17 years in a maximum security prison. Nariman Dzhelal was released in an exchange three months ago. However, both brothers still remain in captivity.
According to our sources in the Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar people, the Ukrainian side tried to get all three political prisoners out of Russia, but the occupiers agreed to include only Dzhelal in the exchange list.
