Ukraine requires the closure of the sky to the Russians in order to launch a counter-offensive

The month of April has arrived, the second month of the war. The Ukrainian Army was able to push back the Russian occupiers out of Kyiv, but the Russians intensified their attacks in Donbas, intending to break up Mariupol and completely take over the Donetsk and Luhansk regions. The Ukrainian Army was able to drive the Russian occupiers out of Kiev, but the Russians stepped up their attacks in the Donbas, intending to break up Mariupol and completely take over the Donetsk and Luhansk regions. What efforts should Ukraine's military-political leadership make to change the course of the war in our favor?

Ukraine requires the closure of the sky to the Russians in order to launch a counter-offensive

The main task of the occupying forces, in my opinion, is to reach the administrative borders of the Donetsk and Luhansk regions. From the very beginning, this was the main goal of the enemy's military campaign.
Other cities, such as Kyiv, Chernihiv, and Sumy, are somewhat distracting. Their task is to block Ukrainian Armed Forces units from assisting in the grouping of our troops in Donbas.

It is important to understand that the Armed Forces' most combat-ready units are concentrated in eastern Ukraine. They have the most serious combat experience, as well as good equipment.
Currently, nearly 60% of the Donetsk region is occupied by invaders, the Luhansk region - about 70%.
The enemy's attempts to seize Mariupol, block Rubizhne, Severodonetsk, Popasna, Troitske, Avdiivka, Marinka, and Krasnohorivka continue. The occupiers have been unsuccessful, they suffer losses.

Over the last 24 hours, the Armed Forces of Ukraine have repulsed six enemy attacks, destroyed four tanks, six armoured vehicle units, and seven enemy vehicle units in the Donetsk and Luhansk regions.
The occupiers are preparing to launch an attack from Kharkiv and the Zaporizhia region in order to create a pocket for a group of Ukrainian troops in Donbas.

It is no coincidence that the Russian Armed Forces' main combat-ready units are now concentrated in the Izyum area. According to operational information, units from Russia's 106th Airborne Division were also transferred. In order to close the encirclement, the aggressor will attempt to break through to Slavyansk.

The occupiers' second goal is to cut Ukraine off from the Sea of Azov and seize full control not only of logistics infrastructure (ports in Berdyansk and Mariupol), but also of a so-called land corridor from the annexed Crimea to the occupied Luhansk and Donetsk regions.

Mariupol is of interest to the enemy not only as a strategic city in political terms, but also as a military target (its economic potential is almost destroyed).
Its port is extremely important to the occupiers. Unlike Taganrog in Russia, it can accommodate larger vessels. The port of Mariupol contributes significantly to Ukraine's foreign exchange earnings. Import-export transshipment base

The enemy's third goal is to control the entire Kherson region in order to fill the Crimean canal with water, which is currently taking place.

Experts believe that the occupiers' plans can be foiled by attacking Horlivka and Donetsk, forcing the enemy to withdraw its forces from Mariupol.
Mykhailo Samus, director of the New Geopolitics Research Network, told the media that unblocking Mariupol would be difficult, but not impossible. Asymmetric actions, according to Samus, should be taken.
To conduct a raid, for example, in the nearby area of Horlivka and Donetsk. This will necessitate a quick withdrawal of Russian troops from Mariupol and action in the Donetsk region, as there may be a threat to Russians.

Furthermore, increased pressure on international partners is required. The sky above us is not closed, and we are not given planes. We must persuade our Western allies to provide Ukraine with more powerful weapons.
Ukraine must achieve air dominance in order to reduce Russia's presence there. If we have appropriate medium and long-range air defense and missile defense capabilities, we will be able to effectively repel the aggressor's missile strikes while also destroying their aircraft. Even the transfer of the Soviet S-300 system to Ukraine will be extremely beneficial.

The Armed Forces of Ukraine are repelling the enemy! We are under the reliable protection of our military. Keep calm and have faith in the Armed Forces!

Most importantly, we are confident in our victory!
